Baseball Predictions: Milwaukee Brewers Favored at Home on Friday Night vs. Cincinnati Reds

Baseball Betting:  The Cincinnati Reds visit the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday with the home team favored.  The Reds have pretty much packed it in for the season but they do have a good pitcher expected to go on Friday as Mat Latos should be on the mound.  The Brewers have collapsed in the past couple of weeks but they are still in the hunt to make the playoffs in the National League.  Here is a look at the matchup and baseball predictions.

Probable Pitchers – Latos vs. Lohse

Mat Latos comes into this game with a 5-4 record and a 3.46 ERA.  He did not pitch well last time out as he allowed five runs and 10 hits in a loss to the Baltimore Orioles.  Latos seems to have hit the skids along with the rest of his team as his efforts of late having been nearly as good as they were a month ago.  And even when Latos pitched well he almost never goes deep into a game.

Kyle Lohse is 12-9 on the seasons with a 3.85 ERA.  The roof has fallen in on Kohse since he sprained his ankle.  He is 12-9 on the season with a 3.85 ERA.  He took three starts off to rest his ankle but it didn’t help as he has allowed 13 earned runs and 17 hits in 15.2 innings.  Catcher Jonathan Lucroy said that Lohse has simply lost his feel for pitching right now.   In his last three starts, Lohse is 1-2 with a 7.47 ERA. He has done pretty well against the Reds in his career with a 6-5 record and a 2.91 ERA.

Game Notes

These teams have split their last ten meetings with a lot of low-scoring games. The last six in the series have gone under. The Brewers have won six of the last 10 at home with four of the last five going under the baseball betting total.

Baseball Predictions

The trends point to a low-scoring game but neither pitcher inspires any confidence.  We’ll go against the trends and take this game over the baseball betting total.
