NBA Picks: Brooklyn Visits Favored San Antonio on Saturday Night

NBA Picks: The Brooklyn Nets visit the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night with the home team favored. The Nets were thought to be the top team in the Atlantic Division but they have stumbled out of the gate and trail the Toronto Raptors for the top spot. They face a very difficult game on Saturday as they play in San Antonio against the defending NBA champs.

Let’s look at the match-up and NBA predictions.

Three-in-Four for the Nets

The Nets face a really tough situation on Saturday as they will be playing their third game in four days and with no rest. They hosted the Bucks on Wednesday, had Thursday off and then they were at Oklahoma City on Friday.

The Nets went 2-3 in their first five road games of the season. The team has some top players like Joe Johnson, Deron Williams and Brook Lopez but so far the team has not come together. The team is scoring enough points at about 102 per game but they are not playing defense as they allow 101 points per game. Surprisingly, the Nets went under the total in three of their first five road games this season.

Spurs also in a Three-in-Four

The Spurs are in the same spot that the Nets are in except they are playing at home. The Spurs were in Cleveland on Wednesday, had Thursday off and then they played at Minnesota on Friday.

Playing with no rest is not easy for this team as they have a number of older players so make sure to check the starting lineup for this game to make sure players like Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are in the lineup as head coach Gregg Popovich has been known to rest players in back-to-back situations. The Spurs failed to cover their first three home games this season so they are no sure thing to cover this game on Saturday.

Series Notes

The Spurs have won eight of the last 10 in this series and they are 6-4 ATS. The Nets did win 103-89 at home last season to break a six-game losing streak against the Spurs. The losing streak for the Nets in San Antonio is 11 games as they have not won in San Antonio since 2003. But even though they haven’t been winning they have covered four of the last six in San Antonio. Six of the last seven meetings in San Antonio have gone under.

NBA Predictions

The Spurs have been going under the total at home so we’ll look for this game to stay under the total.
