Division Leaders Meet on Tuesday as Toronto Blue Jays visit Detroit Tigers

MLB Odds: The Detroit Tigers are favored at home on Tuesday as they host the Toronto Blue Jays in a matchup of division leaders. The Toronto Blue Jays have been one of the hottest teams in the league recently but they should get a good test from the Detroit Tigers who lead the American League Central. The pitching matchup is expected to be Liam Hendriks for the Toronto Blue Jays while the Detroit Tigers go with Anibal Sanchez. Let’s look at the contest and MLB predictions.

Probable Pitching Matchup

It should be Liam Hendriks going against Anibal Sanchez on Tuesday. Hendriks has been really good since going into the starting rotation. He pitched well in his first two starts and went 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA. He didn’t pitch deep into games but giving up just six hits in 11.2 innings gave his team a chance to win both of his starts.

Anibal Sanchez continues to pitch well. He led the league in ERA last season and he has picked up right where he left off. He is somehow just 2-2 this season with a 2.49 ERA. The Detroit Tigers blew another of his starts last time out as overrated closer Joe Nathan lost the game against the Oakland Athletics.

Game Notes

The Detroit Tigers are just 14-11 at home this season with 13 games going over, 11 going under with one push. The Toronto Blue Jays have been good on the road winning 16 and losing 11. 15 of their 27 road games have gone over.

Detroit Tigers Series Domination

The Toronto Blue Jays have lost 8 of the last 10 in this series with six of the last seven going over. The Detroit Tigers have won 7 of the last 10 at home in this series with the last three going over the total.

MLB Predictions

Both of these teams can score but this is a really good pitching matchup between Hendriks and Sanchez. I will make two plays in this one and take the Detroit Tigers and the game under the total.
