IndyCar Picks – Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio NBCSN Sunday!

IndyCar picks:   The Verizon IndyCar Series Helio Castroneves and Will Power have been in a hot race at the top of the Indy Car standings as there are just four races remaining in the schedule.  The IndyCar drivers should be fresh and ready this week as they are coming off a break that followed the Honda Indy Toronto on July 20.  The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio will take place on Sunday with coverage on NBCSN starting at 3 PM ET.  Charlie Kimball was the winner of this race last year with Scott Dixon winning the previous two years before that.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course opened in 1962 as IndyCar racing has taken place there since 2007.  The venue has a bleacher seat capacity of 10,000 and open seating for 65,000.  The track is 2.258 miles in length with a total of 13 turns.

Standing Leaders

Helio Castroneves leads the Indy Car standings with 533 points followed by Will Power at 520, Ryan Hunter Reay at 464, Simon Pagenaud at 462, Juan Pablo Montoya with 428, Scott Dixon at 387, Carlos Munoz at 384, Tony Kanaan at 380, Marco Andretti at 375, and Sebastian Bourdais rounds out the top ten at 358 points.  Castroneves has not won since the second race of the weekend doubleheader at Detroit where Will Power won the first race at Detroit which was Power’s last win.

Top Mid-Ohio Performers

Scott Dixon has been outstanding at Mid-Ohio with seven career starts, four wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes with an average finish of 2.7.

Dario Franchitti has a total of six career starts at Mid-Ohio with one win, five top five finishes and five top ten finishes with an average 4.7.

Will Power has five career starts at Mid-Ohio with zero wins but four top five finishes and four top ten finishes.

Simon Pagenaud has three career starts at Mid-Ohio with two top five finishes and two top ten finishes with an average finish of 6.0.

Ryan Briscoe has five career starts at Mid-Ohio with one win, two top five finishes and four top ten finishes.
