NASCAR Predictions: Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday Night on ABC

NASCAR Betting:  It is night racing this weekend with the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday on ABC.   With just three races remaining before the Chase, the pressure will be on drivers who don’t have a win.  Those drivers include Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle and Kyle Larson.  None of those drivers will be among the favorites to win on Saturday night.  The top choices in the betting are Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon.  Here is a look at the Irwin Tools Night Race and NASCAR predictions.

Looking Beyond the Favorites

In the last three races before the Chase it could be that a driver listed at longshot odds will take the checkered flag. Drivers will be taking more chances to get a win that gets them into the Chase.  So which drivers are the most likely to join the list of winners?  Matt Kenseth has the most points among the non-winners and he is followed by Ryan Newman, Clint Bowyer and Greg Biffle.  If the Chase started today those four drivers would get in on points.  The problem for each of them is that drivers below them in the points could get a win and push them out.  Those drivers include Kasey Kahne, Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson, Marcos Ambrose, Paul Menard, Brian Vickers and Jamie McMurray.

Of those non-winners it is easy to make a case for Matt Kenseth as he has had success at Bristol.  It is also could be a good week for Kyle Larson who has a good driver rating at the track.  And for a really big longshot who could surprise this week, then why not Brian Vickers? He has finished in the top three in three of his last five races at Bristol.  He is not going to make the Chase without a win so he will be taking as many chances as possible.

NASCAR Predictions

We’ll look for one of the non-winners to join the Chase this week with the most likely candidates being Kenseth, Larson or Vickers.  And all are listed at double-digit NASCAR betting odds.
