NHL Odds: Blues open at home with Rangers, and other games

NHL Odds: The St. Louis Blues are favored at home on Thursday night as they host the New York Rangers in the season opener for both teams. The Rangers are coming off a very good season that saw them win the Eastern Conference before losing the Stanley Cup Final to the Kings while the Blues begin this season as one of the top contenders in the Western Conference. Let’s take a look at this game and the rest of the NHL schedule for Thursday.

New York Rangers at St. Louis Blues

The Blues have won 7 of the last 10 in this series. The teams played twice last season with the Blues winning 5-3 at home and 2-1 on the road. The Blues have won five of the last seven in St. Louis in this series. The total has been tough to predict lately in this series with one over, one under and two pushes. We’ll look for the Blues to win their home opener.

Other Thursday Games

  • Columbus at Buffalo: The Blue Jackets might end up as road favorites in this game.
  • Montreal at Washington: This is a tough spot for the Canadiens as they played on Wednesday while the Capitals were off. Backing the home team could be the way to go in NHL picks.
  • New Jersey at Philadelphia: This is a back-to-back for the Flyers who played on Wednesday so the road underdog might be worth a shot.
  • Anaheim at Pittsburgh: This should be a high scoring one between the Ducks and Penguins.
  • Boston at Detroit: This is a tough spot for the Bruins who played on Wednesday while this will be the home opener for the Red Wings.
  • Florida at Tampa Bay: The home team should be a popular choice in this one.
  • Ottawa at Nashville: The Predators should be a slight favorite in this contest.
  • Chicago at Dallas: The road team might be the favorite in this game.
  • Colorado at Minnesota: The home team should be a small favorite.
  • Calgary at Edmonton: The home team has the edge in this one since the Flamers played on Wednesday.
  • Winnipeg at Arizona: The Coyotes will be favored to win their home opener.
