2017 John Deer Classic DFS Lineup

john deere

The PGA Tour will make its final stop before the Open Championship with a trip to TPC Deere Run for the John Deere Classic this week. With a number of the world’s top golfers making their way overseas for the Scottish Open, the field will be wide open with plenty of intriguing options to choose from in DraftKings competitions. We put together the best combination of star players and sleeper value picks in order to fill out what should be a winning lineup for this week’s contests. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s PGA DraftKings competitions.

Danny Lee, $10,200

The most expensive option on our board has been on fire over the past couple of months and should carry over that momentum in to this week’s tournament. Lee has climbed 16 spots to 18th in the Presidents Cup points race in 2017. He has earned seven consecutive paydays, including four top-10 finishes over that span. His current form combined with the fact that he placed third in his last start at the John Deere Classic in 2015 has us buying high on him in this week’s DraftKings competitions.

Charley Hoffman, $9,700

Hoffman has already posted five top-10 finishes in 2017 including a solo eighth at the U.S. Open and a T-3rd at the Travelers Championship. He is also one of the most talented and experienced golfers in this week’s field. Considering his strong play and overall experience, Hoffman should be a solid pick for this week’s John Deere Classic.

David Hearn, $8,200

Hearn is coming off a 14th-place finish at The Greenbrier Classic and has now finished in the top-15 in three of his last four starts. The veteran Canadian is trending upward heading in to the John Deere Classic where he will look to keep the momentum going with another strong outing. He doesn’t have an excellent track record at this tournament but that does help keep his price low. He is a strong mid-range pick for this week’s event.

Kelly Kraft, $7,700

Kraft might have picked up his first-career PGA Tour win if he had done a better job with his putter last week. He really couldn’t be any worse with it this week. Kraft will look to build off a fifth-place finish at The Greenbrier Classic last week and secure his third top-10 finish of the season this week. At under $8K, he is worth taking a shot on in DraftKings competitions.

Not many people will recognize the name but Kraft has been playing well this season. He is currently 21st in the FedEx Cup standings. He’s only one spot behind Danny Lee, who was once a PGA Tour sensation.

Chad Campbell, $7,600

Campbell is playing his best golf of the season heading in to this weeks tournament. He has made four of his last five cuts including top-15 finishes at the AT&T Byron Nelson, the St. Jude Classic and at The Greenbrier Classic. Campbell has plenty of experience in this tournament and has made the cut in each of his past five appearances here. At just $7.6K, Campbell is a sneaky good sleeper pick this week.

Campbell enters the week in 38th place in terms of the FedEx Cup standings. He has some work to do to get into the Top 30.

Cody Gribble, $6,500

Gribble has struggled with his Driving accuracy this season but he has all of the tools to turn things around and perform at a high level the way we saw him do late last season. He has been excellent with the irons and has done a good job sinking his putts. Gribble needs to keep it on the fairway and he will contend this week. While he hasn’t performed at the level expected of him so far this season, we expect that to change with a strong performance at the John Deere Classic this week. It’s risky, but Gribble is a strong sleeper value pick.

Although Gribble isn’t a name you might be familiar with, he isn’t too far down the standings in terms of the FedEx Cup. He’s currently 37th, which isn’t too bad when you consider that he’s ahead of Jason Dufner and only five spots behind Sergio Garcia.
