2017 NASCAR Brickyard 400 DFS Lineup

brickyard 400

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will continue with the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 on Sunday afternoon. Experience and strategy will be that much more important this week at Indianapolis, which is one of the most unique tracks that will host a NASCAR race this season. We broke down the numbers to determine the best lineup for this weekend complete with top contenders and strong value options. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings NASCAR fantasy competitions.

Kyle Busch, $10,500

Despite his overall struggles so far this season, every DraftKings lineup for this week’s race should begin with Busch. The veteran driver has been absolutely dominant at Indianapolis where he is the two-time defending champion at both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series level and the NASCAR Xfinity Series level. While he is still looking for his first win of the year, Busch has placed in the top-nine in seven of his last 10 races overall. The most successful driver at Indianapolis should be a lock in every DraftKings lineup for this week’s race.

Martin Truex Jr., $10,300

Truex hasn’t had the same success as Busch at Indianapolis in the past. However, he has been the most dominant driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this season with seven top-five finishes and 13 top-10 finishes in 19 starts. Truex is tied for the league with three Cup wins and he has enters this race on fire after winning at Kentucky and placing third at New Hampshire. Truex is one of the most expensive players on the DraftKings board but he should be worth every single dollar once again this week.

Jamie McMurray, $8,600

McMurray is still looking for his first win of the season but he has been incredible consistent all year and could be overdue. McMurray won this event in 2010 and has four other top-10 finishes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He hasn’t placed lower than 17th in any of his last five races, including three top-10 results. McMurray should contend for the outright win this week and his value should exceed his DraftKings price tag.

Daniel Suarez, $7,500

Suarez has been on a bit of a roll of late with four straight top-20 finishes, including a top-10 finish at New Hampshire last week when he placed sixth. Suarez will be motivated to extend his hot streak this week at Indianapolis where he should be a decent mid-tier play at $7.5K in DraftKings competitions.

Suarez finds himself in 18th place in the NASCAR standings as we enter the week. He has managed five Top 10’s on the season, which is a big reason for him landing in the Top 20. He’s also only had one DNF, which is key for DFS play. He is 354 points back of the lead.

Aric Almirola, $6,600

Almirola was doing just fine before he tripped up at Kansas City a couple of weeks ago. After recording back-to-back top-10 results at Richmond and Talladega, Almirola has placed 38th and 24th in his last two starts. The driver of the No. 43 Ford should bounce back with a better outing this week at Indianapolis. A top-10 finish this weekend would be more than good enough considering his price tag.

Almirola finds himself in 32 place in the Monster Energy Cup standings as we approach the weekend. He has three Top 10’s and two Top 5’s on the season. The challenge for him has been that when he’s missed, he’s missed bad.

Danica Patrick, $6,100

Danica is on quite a roll following an absolutely brutal start to the season. Patrick placed 15th at Kentucky a couple of weeks ago and the followed that performance by finishing 13th at New Hampshire. While she still has just one top-10 finish to her name this season she has been good enough of late to trust her this weekend. Lock in Danica as a strong deep sleeper pick for this week’s DraftKings competitions.

Heading into the weekend, Patrick is currently in 28th place in the standings. She has just one Top 10 on the season and is 504 points back of the leader.
