2017 NASCAR I Love New York 355 DFS Lineup

I LOVE NEW YORK 355

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series speeds in to Watkins Glen, New York for the I Love New York 355 at The Glen this Sunday. It will be the second and final road race on the MENCS schedule and with only five races left to go before the Chase the urgency is about to ramp up once again. We took a closer look at the DraftKings prices for this week’s competitions and built what we feel is the perfect roster with a combination of star drivers and strong value picks. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings NASCAR fantasy competitions.

Martin Truex Jr., $10,500

Truex has finished third or better in three of his last four starts and sixth or better in eight of his last 11 races so it makes sense that he is the most expensive option on the board. Truex could have easily had six or seven wins by this point in the season and while he has never won at Watkins Glen it’s impossible to overlook him at this point in the season. Truex has registered top-10 finishes in six of his last 10 starts at this track. He should be in the mix to contend for the outright win again this week.

Kyle Busch, $10,300

Busch finally ended his winless drought with a victory at Pocono Raceway last week and there is a good chance that he can build on that performance in the I Love New York 355 at The Glen. Busch is the only active driver with multiple wins at Watkins Glen. He also has 10 top-10 finishes in 12 Cup starts at this track. Busch has won back-to-back races in each of the last two years so nobody should be surprised if he does it again in 2017.

Kevin Harvick, $10,000

There haven’t been many weeks when we begin our DraftKings lineup with the three most expensive options on the board but it does make a lot of sense to do exactly that this week. Harvick has heated up over the last month and he came very close to picking up his second win of the season at Pocono last week. With one win and eight top-10 finishes in 16 starts at Watkins Glen, Harvick should be another top contender to win the I Love New York 355 at The Glen this week.

Michael McDowell, $7,100

After spending big on our first three picks we have no choice but to find three capable sleeper options to fill out the remainder of our DraftKings lineup. Fortunately, we have three good picks lined up beginning with McDowell. The driver of the No. 95 Chevrolet for the Circle Sport-Leavine Family placed 18th in the Overton’s 400 last week. He also finished 14th in the first road race of the season at Sonoma earlier in the season. While he won’t win the I Love New York 355 at The Glen, another top-25 finish will be more than enough to make McDowell worth having as a strong value pick in this week’s DraftKings competitions.

Aric Almirola, $6,200

Almirola is almost $1K cheaper than McDowell in DraftKings competitions but he is equally capable of registering a top-20 finish at Watkins Glen this week. Almirola is coming off a rough outing at Pocono last week but he had finished in the top-25 in 10 of his previous 11 starts including a pair of top-10 results at Richmond and Talladega this season. At such a low price, Almirola is another solid pick to help us balance our top-heavy DraftKings lineup for this week’s competitions.

Danica Patrick, $5,900

The final selection in our DraftKings lineup for the I Love New York 355 at The Glen is Patrick, who is actually a bit underpriced at less than $6K. After a rough start to the 2017 season, Danica has been a lot more consistent of late with six straight top-25 finishes including four consecutive top-15 results. Patrick finished 17th at Sonoma and she placed 21st in this race last year. At under $6K, Patrick should be another excellent sleeper value pick to round out our DraftKings roster for this week’s race at Watkins Glen.
