Only two No. 3 seeds advanced out of their regionals and it just so happens both will play each other in the Super Regional for a spot in the College World Series. Washington got out of the Coastal Carolina Regional and now will go back west to face the Stanford Regional champions Cal State Fullerton in Fullerton.

Series Odds

BetDSI Sportsbook has released odds, which you can view below, for this matchup.

Washington Huskies +120

Cal State Fullerton Titans -160

Series Preview

When you look where each of these teams came from, Cal State Fullerton had the much tougher road to get to the Super Regional and the Titans didn’t just take the Stanford Regional, but they went 3-0 beating the likes of Baylor 6-2 and the top-seeded Cardinal twice, 2-1 and 5-2.

Meanwhile the Huskies beat UConn 7-1 in the opener and again in the final, 9-6, while beating top-seeded Coastal Carolina 11-6 for a spot in the final.

The Titans starters of Colton Eastman, Tommy Wilson and Tanner Bibee are 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA in the tournament with 25 strikeouts to only two walks allowed in 19 2/3 innings.

Eastman is the highest MLB draft pick in the series going in the fourth round to the Philadelphia Phillies and will look to have another shutdown performance in Game 1 at 2 p.m. Friday.

The Huskies come in swinging a hot bat after averaging nine runs a game for the tournament.

Second baseman AJ Graffanino (Eighth Round, Atlanta Braves) is batting .533 with six RBIs and Joe Wainhouse is batting .385 with six RBIs and three home runs.

Prediction

When hot arms goes up against hot bats, the bats always seem to cool down and Cal State Fullerton has the staff to cool off Washington

The Huskies have a solid ace in Joe DeMars (11th round, Oakland Athletics) so Game 1 you can expect a solid pitching matchup with Eastman, but the Titans are too deep for Washington.
