2018 Big Brother Recap and Odds — Was the Power of Veto Used?

Big Brother

Tonight’s Big Brother episode is all about the Power of Veto. Who won it and was it used to save either Scottie or Winston? And, if it was, who was put up as a replacement nominee?

First things first, let’s talk about what happened before the Power of Veto competition. It’s all about the ‘Backdoor Swaggy Plan.’ The head of household, Kaitlyn, is part of the Foute alliance, but she can’t tell them that she has partnered with Tyler to backdoor Swaggy. It’s not a good plan though, because Faysal is one of her best buddies in the house and she has outright lied to him during their discussion of what her plan was as head of household.

During the picking of the players for the power of veto competition, Kaitlyn gets ‘houseguest’s choice,’ and picks Faysal because she wants Foute to think they are all working together. There are six competitors in the Power of Veto competition: Faysal, Winston, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Scottie and Tyler.

Faysal goes to Kaitlyn’s HOH room and she tells him that she doesn’t want him to win the Power of Veto because he won two vetos in a row and advises him that others are going to see it as a threat. When asked who she is going to put up if the Power of Veto is used, Kaitlyn answers “Angela.” Bad move.

It’s time for the Power of Veto competition and Big Brother’s Jess and Cody show up. I couldn’t care less about these two, especially that Cody still doesn’t even smile even though it’s not his year anymore. Dude, you won a million dollars on The Amazing Race — crack a smile! But I digress. They are here to tell the houseguests about their competition. Big Brother has created a new dating app and the competitors must put the cutouts of the houseguests with the right ‘date’ that they would want to go on. The one who puts it together the fastest wins power of veto.

Faysal times out and the ultimate winner of the Power of Veto is Tyler with a time of 5:29. The plan to backdoor swaggy is going perfectly, but Kaitlyn is upset that Foute is going to hate her. Got that right girl!

Again, she tells Faysal, ‘don’t be mad at me for what I’m about to do.’ He questions her, but she won’t give specifics. When she asks him for a hug, he says ‘no.’ Kaitlyn makes another mistake and tells Hayley about her plans. Hayley tells Rockstar, who tells…nobody. She keeps the secret.

At the Power of Veto ceremony, Tyler decides to use the power to save Scottie and Kaitlyn — while in absolute tears — puts Shaggy on the block in his place. She apologizes. Everyone is stunned and obviously pissed. I’m doing cartwheels at home.

So who will go home — Shaggy or Winston? If the stars are truly aligned, it will be Shaggy — I mean Swaggy and he’ll go home, if they can fit his overinflated ego through the door.
