It was a mostly fun day on social media for Major League Baseball. Heck, even the injury to one of the game’s brightest young stars had a funny side to it. And then there was Ryan Braun and the beer. Oh yes, the beer and Ryan Braun. And some cabbage. What? Well, you just have to see it all to believe it all.
- Ryan Braun went to make a catch on a deep fly ball from Pete Alonso … and then Citi Field’s, ahem, unique home-field advantage kicked in.
- Charley Kershaw is cuter than his dad, but his fastball might not quite be Major League ready yet. But definitely cuter.
- So the Nationals won in extra innings on a walk-off, and then … smashed cabbage in the clubhouse to celebrate? Man, baseball players are weird sometimes.
- Hopefully Fernando Tatis Jr. isn’t hurt badly so we can admire the majesty of the splits he did with a smile on our faces.
- The Rangers beat the Mariners 15-1 on Saturday, which is a once-in-a-season type offensive explosion … oh wait, then they beat Seattle 14-1 on Sunday.
