#CrackCancer: Here’s what Cody Bellinger is doing to fight pediatric brain cancer

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Baseball is fun, obviously, but many Major Leaguers understand there are more important things than the game on the field. That’s why a recent social media trend, from big leaguers like Cody Bellinger, to battle pediatric cancer is so cool. On the field, meanwhile, celebrations for big wins are getting more and more viral-post worthy — as are the inevitable slip-ups and funny failures. Let’s get to it.

The #CrackCancer challenge has one big leaguer, the Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger, challenging others to raise funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research. Two thumbs up, guys.

Back on the field, fun moments are everywhere. The Mets’ season seemed like it was falling apart, until they returned home and swept the Nationals, courtesy most recently of this eighth-inning bomb from Carlos Gomez

Meanwhile, the White Sox are clearly in a celebratory mood. What moves!

Well, that’s one way to add to your home run total. Oscar Mercado has only a bruised hip and should be OK within a couple of days, but oh Indians, what are you doing?

Speaking of mishaps, check out some college baseball. A kick save for Auburn … and a disaster.

Austin Meadows is having a great season thus far for the Rays, but he almost had his heart broken last week. You think he really, really wanted his family to show for BP?
