Golf Undigested Podcast – Episode 61

Golf Undigested

The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!

Burroughs starts Podcast #61 by taking us through last week’s action in the world of golf. It looked like Colombian Sebastian Munoz may go wire-to-wire and earn his first PGA Tour win, but it was another rookie who stole the show and grabbed the win. Munoz was leading by two heading to the final day but had an erratic final day that paved the way for Xander Schauffele who birdied the final hole to reach 14-under par and seal the win.

On the other side of the pond at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, Jon Rahm ran away from the field on the final day, shooting a 65 to reach 24-under par and win by six. Tournament host and defending champion, Rory McIlroy missed the cut.

The PGA Champions Tour was off for the week.

Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host record stands at 80-51-10 for the year and 5-2 last week. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world.

This week the PGA Tour heads to Silvis, Illinois for the John Deere Classic where Ryan Moore defends his title he won a year ago. Steve Stricker makes his 16th appearance and is the only three-time winner of the event.

The European Tour travels to Scotland for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open where a world class field is assembled that includes Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Kuchar, Patrick reed and defending champion Alex Noren.

The PGA Champions Tour is back in action at the Constellation Players Championship in Baltimore, Maryland.

Should be an exciting week in golf!

Chad Campbell +6000 had his best finish of the year last week at the Greenbrier with a T9. He’s played the John Deere Classic nine times and is a perfect nine for nine with five top 15’s. Players like Campbell play well in streaks and if last week is any indication, he will put together another solid four rounds this week.

The horse for the course you may think is Zach Johnson or Steve Stricker but you can also make a case for Johnson Wagner +5700. Since 2014. he’s gone T7-T5-T5 with a scoring average of 66.92 since and is in good form having tied for fifth two weeks ago at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm.

TV Coverage for John Deere Classic: Thursday-Friday, 4-7 p.m. ET – Golf Channel. Saturday-Sunday, 1-2:30 p.m. Golf Channel, 3-6 p.m. – CBS.

Andy Sullivan +2450 is finally finding his groove and playing solid golf again. After getting off to a slow start, the Englishman is trending in the right direction and has had success in Scotland in the past. In his last four starts on European he’s played well; a T8 at the Nordea Masters, T13 in the Open de France and three closing 68s for T20 in last week’s Irish Open. He tied for sixth at this event last year and backed it up with a T12 a week later at the Open at Troon so he clearly likes the tracks in Scotland.

American Peter Uihlein +3000 is putting up solid numbers the last few weeks. He was runner-up at the HNA Open de France and backed it up with a solid T14 last week at the Irish Open. He clearly thrives on links style courses and he’s due to pick up his first European Tour win of the year.

Burroughs wraps up #61 by talking about Steph Curry’s exemption in to a Web.com event in August and gives the listeners a tip on how to increase your feel for the game.
