Alabama Gymnastics Head Coach Names Justin Spring to Coaching Staff

Olympic gold and NCAA champion Justin Spring has joined the Alabama gymnastics staff, according to an announcement made by head coach Ashley Johnston on Tuesday. As an assistant coach, Spring will assist with all facets of the team’s operations.

“I have known Justin since our time together in the U.S. National Squad. He understands precisely what it takes to perform at the greatest level in this sport because he was an Olympian and an NCAA champion gymnast as well as a coach, and he has repeatedly shown that he can impart his knowledge and experience in a way that benefits his student-athletes the most. In addition to being a fantastic technical coach, he also shares our idea of cultivating the full person and prioritizing student-athlete welfare and adds such excitement and passion to everything he does.” In addition to being the head coach of the Illinois men’s team, Spring is a member of the US Olympic Team.
