Angels News: Mike Trout Says He Wants The Angels To Make a Splash To Make Playoffs

As a baseball fan, I feel it’s your duty to root for Mike Trout. Even if it’s just a little bit. While Trout is signed to a long-term contract with the Angels, the next order of business is to get the guy some help. Trout needs a few partners in crime if the Angels are going to vault into the MLB postseason anytime soon.

Now, he’s on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM to talk about his desire to play in the postseason, and for the Angels to make a splash this winter. Let’s have a listen, shall we?

First, the three-time AL MVP says it’s time for the Angels to make a splash and get that big arm in Orange County.

“Angels fans or players are waiting for that thing to pop up on the phone to say we’re signing somebody. I’m very confident in bringing in new players to surround me and other players like Albert and Upton and Ohtani. Just to bring guys in who want to win and get to the playoffs. I think that’s the biggest thing that’s left. I want to get to the playoffs and go from there.”

Then, Trout was asked by the show’s host if he’s made any recruiting calls to the likes of Gerrit Cole or others on the free agent market.

“I have not but like I said, they can call my phone any time of the week and I’m here to answer it.”

Finally, it’s never a bad thing to hear from Mike Trout. I wish I could bottle him up at age-25 forever so we could enjoy a lifetime of his play. Of course, sports don’t work that way. Eventually Trout will get older, and one day soon he will be done playing.

Before that happens – as a baseball fan – I hope the Angels get the guy the horses surrounding him so he can play in a World Series. That would be good for the sport I love.
