Arsenal are now in prime position to sign Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez this summer after bids from Real Madrid and Barcelona were turned down, according to AS. Barcelona reportedly refused to go beyond €100 million and provoked Atlético with their approach, while Real Madrid had a €150 million offer rejected earlier in the week.
AS adds that Arsenal may be the only club in a position to fund a deal, but any transfer would likely require a near world‑record fee to persuade Atlético to sell.
Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow with a view to signing him on a free transfer, The Athletic reports. Darlow is a free agent next month while Leeds seek to extend his contract. United are said to want an experienced option behind first‑choice Senne Lammens as Altay Bayindir is expected to depart, with recently relegated Wolves keeper Sam Johnstone also mentioned as a possibility.
Manchester City have rekindled interest in Tottenham right back Pedro Porro, according to The Athletic. Porro has two years remaining on his contract, spent 2019–22 on City’s books without breaking through, left for Sporting CP and has been a Tottenham regular since 2023.
Bournemouth value midfielder Alex Scott at £80 million, TalkSPORT reports, but the club are determined to keep the 22‑year‑old and have offered him a new contract that could include a release clause. Liverpool and Manchester United have monitored Scott this summer.
