Aston Villa and Lyon secured top positions in their respective Europa League groups, earning direct qualification to the round of 16. The two clubs concluded the group stage with consistent performances that placed them at the summit of the standings.

Aston Villa, representing England, demonstrated solid form throughout the Europa League group stage, showing cohesion in both defense and attack. Their results ensured they finished first in their group, bypassing the playoff round and gaining direct entry to the last 16 of the competition.

French side Lyon also displayed strong performances against their group-stage opponents. With a balanced approach, the team capitalized on key opportunities and maintained defensive discipline to secure the necessary points to top their group.

Joining them in the next round are Roma and Porto, both of whom claimed the final spots available for direct advancement to the round of 16. Despite facing pressure in their respective groups, both clubs managed to achieve the results required to finish among the top eight in the overall Europa League standings.

Roma, the Italian Serie A club, relied on experienced leadership and tactical discipline to edge past their group rivals. Their qualification came down to pivotal late performances that allowed them to accumulate the points needed to advance directly.

Portuguese club Porto also secured a place in the round of 16 with a narrow but decisive finish. Their ability to manage crucial fixtures down the stretch of the group stage proved essential in securing one of the top eight berths.

With the group stage now concluded, the Europa League moves into the knockout phase. Aston Villa, Lyon, Roma, and Porto await the results of the playoff round, which will determine their opponents in the round of 16. The next stage of the competition is set to offer compelling matchups as clubs continue their pursuit of European silverware.
