Austin defenseman Jean-Louis commits to the NCAA Division I

The Top Prospects defenseman Xavier Jean-Louis has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and the Austin Bruins, proud NAHL members, are happy to announce this. Following his selection as the 13th overall player in the 2021 NAHL Draft, Jean-Louis joined the Bruins for the 2021–22 season.

The 6’4″, 190-pound product of Montreal, Quebec, played in 56 games this season and contributed 18 points (1 goal, 17 assists). Additionally, he was chosen to represent the Central Division at the 2022 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, where he competed. Jean-Louis said, “I am thankful for this chance. “I put a lot of effort into this, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.”

“Xavier has skill. He plays the part well and makes use of his stature when necessary” said Steve Howard, head coach. “Xavier is going to fit in well at UAF, which is a fantastic program.” Everyone expects big things from Xavier and we will see how successful he will be.
