Ava Jones declares her commitment to play basketball for Iowa in college

Ava Jones, a forward for Nickerson, declared on social media on Sunday that she will play collegiate basketball for Iowa in the Big 10 Conference. Prior to a coaching change, Jones had already committed to Arizona State. As a result, Jones decided to reopen her recruitment. Jones visited Texas Tech, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State. Just two weeks ago, she visited Iowa.

Jones stated, “I’d want to start out by thanking my family for everything they do. Without each and every one of you, none of this would be possible. I also want to express my gratitude to all the universities that have contacted me and taken the time to get to know my family and I. Having said that, I’m thrilled to declare that I’ve committed to the University of Iowa. Hawkeyes, go!” Jones averages 20.8 points, 15.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Additionally, she is the 83rd-best female basketball player.
