Barnes, Cunningham, and Mobley Have Been Chosen for the 2021-22 NBA All-Rookie Team

The NBA announced today that Toronto guard-forward Scottie Barnes, Detroit guard Cade Cunningham, and Cleveland forward-center Evan Mobley were unanimously voted to the 2021-22 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team. A global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters voted for each of the three players to the Kia NBA All-Rookie 1st Team on each of the 100 ballots.

Joining Barnes, Cunningham, and Mobley on the 2021-22 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team with 200 points apiece are Orlando big Franz Wagner (183 points; 84 First Team votes) and Houston guard Jalen Green (158 points; 58 First Team votes).

Barnes was third among NBA rookies in points (15.3 ppg) and rebounds (7.5 rpg) and fifth in assists (3.5 apg) (3.5 apg). He was recognized twice (February and March/April) as the Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month. The first overall choice in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cunningham topped all rookies in points (17.4 ppg), was second in assists (5.6 apg), and ranked sixth in rebounds (5.5 rpg). January’s Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month was awarded to him. Mobley, who placed second behind Barnes in voting for the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Award, topped all rookies in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and blocked shots (1.50 bpg) while ranking fifth in scoring (13.0 ppg) (15.0 ppg). The Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for October/November was awarded to him.
