He can usually be counted in to go at least 7 innings and with the Angels now having a top closer in Huston Street, the chances of the Angels winning when Richards is on the mound are pretty good.
Red Sox Pitching
The Red Sox are out of the playoff picture so they are giving young players a chance to win a job for next season. One of those players is Rubby De La Rosa who is 4-4 on the season with a 3.79 ERA. He should be on the mound on Thursday. He did not pitch well last time out as he gave up six runs in four innings against the Astros but in his previous start he beat the Angels, giving up just one run in seven innings.
Game Notes
This is the finale of a four-game series on Thursday. The teams had split their last ten meetings with two of the last three going under. The Angels had taken six of the last ten in Boston with the games being high scoring with five straight going over.
