It should be Tanner Roark getting this start on Tuesday and he has been really good for Washington. He has an ERA right around three for the season and his overall numbers are solid. He has a good hit to innings pitched ratio and he also has a good strikeout to walk ratio. Stephen Strasburg gets much of the press for the Nationals in the starting rotation but Roark has been the better pitcher this season.
Atlanta Braves Pitching
It should be Aaron Harang getting this start on Tuesday. He was excellent last week as he got the win against the Nationals. He is 11-10 on the season with a 3.72 ERA. He has owned the Nats this season as he has held them to just two runs and 18 hits this season. The only concern is that he could be wearing down but it is hard to argue with what he did last week in a huge win for the Braves in Washington. He is 3-4 in his career against Washington with a 3.10 ERA.
Series Notes
This series has been really even with the teams splitting their last ten games but it is a home team dominated series. The Nationals took two of three last week in Washington but they have dropped 8 of their last 10 in Atlanta. The teams played two low scoring games in Atlanta last month but their previous four games in Atlanta went over the total.
