Baseball Predictions – St. Louis Cardinals Favored vs. Boston Red Sox on Wednesday Night on ESPN

Baseball Betting:  ESPN will be televising the game between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.  It should be an interesting matchup between two teams that just recently completed a big trade. The Cardinals sent Alan Craig and Joe Kelly to the Red Sox for John Lackey.  The Cardinals are hoping that Lackey gives them a boost so that they get into the playoffs.  Here is a look at this game on Wednesday and baseball predictions.

St. Louis Cardinals Pitching

The Cardinals have shaken up their starting rotation with the addition of John Lackey.  It is unclear how things will work out for this series as St. Louis was unsure of their starter for Wednesday. The Cardinals have a good pitching staff that is 9th in the league in ERA.  Getting Lackey is not a huge upgrade as the problem for the team this season has been hitting as they are next to last in the league in runs scored.  It could be Shelby Miller getting this start on Wednesday and he has been very inconsistent this season.

Boston Red Sox Pitching

The Red Sox traded away Jon Lester and John Lackey so it is hard to get excited about their pitching.  They could be going with Ruby De La Rosa for this game on Wednesday. They should be more potent on offense though with the addition of Craig and Yoenis Cespedes.  There could be a lot of high scoring games down the stretch for the Boston Red Sox.

World Series Rematch

These teams met in the World Series a year ago as the Boston Red Sox won in six games.  The Red Sox had taken six of the last ten overall in the series and they have also won five of the last eight in St. Louis.  Six of the last eight in St. Louis have gone under the baseball betting total.

Baseball Predictions

The pitching matchup for this game on Wednesday is not likely to feature good starting pitching so we’ll look for a high scoring game that goes over the total.
