Bellator 151 Odds For Warren vs Caldwell and More!

Bellator 151 Odds

Bellator 151 Odds – This Friday night March 4th, Bellator 151 hits us from the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma with a full 11 fight card that sees the featured fights air on Spike TV.

The main event comes in the Bantamweight division as former champion Joe Warren returns to face up and coming Darrion Caldwell in a three round bout. Warren is 13-4 in MMA and he is a former world champion as an amateur wrestler, so he is one of Bellator’s most tested competitors. Some people like him and some people do not, but it cannot be said that he does not fight hard. Unfortunately for Warren, he is approaching 40 years old at this point, and though he keeps himself in phenomenal shape, his best days are behind him.

Caldwell is 8-0 in MMA and he is going to be more than ten years younger than Warren when they lock the cage. Though he does not have the wrstling pedigree of Warren, he did wrestle at a high level and that will help offset some of Warren’s advantages. Whether Warren could handle a high level five round fight anymore will not be tested, and that is a good thing. Conditioning has never been the problem with Caldwell. The line actually sees Caldwell as the favorite, which could be the writing on the wall for Warren’s MMA career.

Fernando Gonzalez is on a terrific run, going 4-0 in Bellator since joining the group, usually winning as an underdog. In this match, Gonzalez faces the massively muscled Gilbert Smith in what is Smith’s Bellator debut. Gonzalez is 24-13 overall, and he is officially on the best run of his career. He is doing it at the relatively high-level Bellator represents and he has won 2 decisions and has a KO and a submission as well. Smith has been fighting five rounders on the lower circuit, so he will likely come in shape. The savvy Gonzalez is only going to have three rounds to wear out a bull and find a way to win.

The Featherweight bout between Bubba Jenkins (10-2) and Goiti Yamauchi (19-2) is a good one. Jenkins is a tested Bellator veteran, going 7-2 under the promotion, but Yamaguachi has quietly put together a 5-1 recor din Bellator himself.

This event is the third show of a run that saw them produce a trio of shows in three weeks. Bellator will now be off until mid-April, and they have 2 shows a month on the calendar now in April and May. The Bellator 149 event headlined by Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie was a disgrace to the sport. The Bellator 150 line-up settled down to more competitive fights, and Bellator 151 offers more of the same.
