Boxing Odds: Jeff Horn Enters The Ring Against Viktor Plotnykov

There is a full plate of boxing all over the world this weekend.  In New Zealand, promoter David Higgins presents a card headlined by Welterweight Olympian Jeff Horn (10-0-1) taking on the experienced Viktor Plotnykov (32-2).  That fight is at the books right now, and the co-main event on this card features heavyweight prospect Joseph Parker as he faces Australia’s Bowie Tupuo.

Heading over to England, you have Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle in a lightweight bout for the vacant WBC International title.  The card also features a super welterweight bout between Brian Rose and Carson Jones.  Also on the card are several interesting bouts as former lightweight world champion Ricky Burns tries to get back on the winning track as he faces Prince Ofotsu.

Also on the card in an eight-round bout is heavyweight Dillian Whyte (14-0).  White has been rising through the ranks and he boasts a win over British heavyweight and gold medal Olympian Anthony Joshua in the amateur ranks. You can count on Whyte to be throwing his name in the hat to face Joshua should he beat this weekend’s opposition, Brazilian journeyman Irineu Beato Costa Junior.

Italy’s undefeated lightweight Emiliano Marsili (31-0-1) goes for the vacant WBC Silver title as he faces Mexico’s Gamaliel Diaz.  Diaz is a former world champion at super featherweight who has gone through a rough spell recently, going 1-3-1 in his last five outings.
