D.C. Armory Showtime Boxing Odds For Saturday

D.C. Armory Showtime Boxing Odds

D.C. Armory Showtime Boxing Odds – The D.C. Armory hosts Showtime Boxing and the Premier Boxing Champions this saturday night with an eight fight card that sees two world title fights in the super middleweight division as the main events.

The WBC World title will be on the line as titleholder Badou Jack faces the challenge of Lucien Bute. Bute is a former champion who held that title for roughly five years, but he is now 36 years old and many consider his best days behind him.  Jack upset Anthony Dirrell to win the belt back in April of 2015, and he still gets little respect depsite now being champ for over a year. Since then, Jack has been very dedicatd to his craft and much of the beihnd the scenes talk is about the improvements Jack has made in his game.

In Bute, he faces a fighter who lost his last fight, a world title fight against James DeGale. In defeat however, But came out with eleveate dstatus as he put on a performance that was commendable. Many observers thought he won that fight this past November. Here, Bute gets perhaps his last shot at a world title. Bute is a veteran who will be bringing his “A'” game to test Jack.  Despite his long and decorated career, this is the first fight for Bute in the United States in about a dozen years as he fought there back in 2004 but has not returned since.

The other title bout sees Britain’s James DeGale return to the United States to take on the challenge of Rogelio Medina. Medina is a veteran with a 36-6 record, but in DeGale he is fighting a “hot” fighter right now. It is rare to see British fighters leave the Islands to establish themselves, but DeGale, a former Olympic gold medalist, has done just that. He defeated Dirrell in the USA and he defended his belt against Bute in Canada, so he has shown no fear about fighting away from his comfort zone, and he deserves to be commended.  Medina wint 3-0 in 2015 but is making his first appearnace of the year in this fight.

The PBC intends to match the winners in a broadcast later this year in what would be a “champion vs champion” match and could see the PRemier Boxing Champions issue their long awaited first belts.
