Bucks News: Bucks Not Concerned With Warriors Pursuing Giannis

The best NBA player from the 2018-19 campaign, Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, will become a free agent in the summer of 2021. It seems that the Golden State Warriors already expressed their interest in Giannis, but the Bucks are not concerned with the rumors.

“Keeping Giannis, it’s a focus obviously,” one Bucks front-office source told Heavy.com. “But fighting the Warriors is not a focus. The Warriors are not the concern in the least. They’d have a long way to go to get him to Golden State, they’d have to give away a lot. He has never given any indication that he wants to leave Milwaukee. So a lot of that stuff, it is more chatter than anything.”

The move for the Greek Freak would be a massive deal for the Warriors, who managed to bring in Kevin Durant after his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder expired three summers ago. That move put the Warriors in the front seat as they dominated the NBA over the past few years, but Milwaukee is pretty sure Antetokounmpo will remain there after 2021.

Still, it would be a tale for the ages if Golden State could somehow bring Giannis to San Francisco.

It’s too early to speculate about the future and to think about Antetokounmpo leaving Milwaukee, especially after the Bucks said that they are planning to offer him a max-contract. However, nothing is guaranteed, and we’ve seen even bigger surprises in the past.
