Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo Promised Make-A-Wish Kid Victory Over Raptors

Giannis Antetokounmpo

First, Giannis Antetokounmpo told Deyon from Make-A-Wish that the Bucks were going to beat the Toronto Raptors. Then, Antetokounmpo took a nap. Finally, he delivered on his promise and Milwaukee defeated Toronto 115-110 on Saturday night.

Moreover, Antetokounmpo had 36 points and 15 boards. Here is a video where The Greek Freak basically guarantees victory over Toronto in the quiet moments before Milwaukee got the big win.

Of course, following the game – Antetokounmpo spoke about what it meant to get past the defending NBA Champions.

“I had a lot of motivation, but obviously a different team. Kawhi (Leonard) is not on the team, but I think guys have stepped up,” Antetokounmpo said. “(Kyle) Lowry is still playing amazing, (Pascal) Siakam has stepped up a lot for this team, (OG) Anunoby … those guys, but yeah, just the team that cost us the trip to the NBA Finals, obviously, you’re gonna come out and play a little bit harder and have a little bit extra juice in you.”

Notably, let’s not forget the ever important nap he took beforehand. He gave mention to this, and one must wonder now if it doesn’t become somewhat of a tradition.

“I think that’s what the team did tonight and that’s what when I woke up from my nap, that’s what I was thinking.”

Now, Milwaukee is 4-2 on the season. It’s hardly a commanding start, but thus far the Bucks have defeated Houston and now Toronto. Therefore, they have shown that they can hang with just about anyone and they are ready to take the league by storm.

Finally, no one should forget the little bit of heroics that happened before the game with the kid. It’s nice to see a superstar as big as Antetokounmpo taking the time to be a decent person. Furthermore, it probably made the kid’s day when Milwaukee pulled it off.
