BYU Cougars – Gonzaga Bulldogs Preview – 01.14.2016

West Coast foes will lock horns when the No. 25 Gonzaga Bulldogs (13-3) face off against the BYU Cougars (12-5) at McCarthey Athletic Center. Action begins at 9:00 pm ET on Thursday, Jan. 14 and can be seen on ES2 and ES3.

The Bulldogs enter this game hoping for similar success after topping Portland 85-74 in their last matchup. Domantas Sabonis was a key piece, recording his eighth double-double of the season with 28 points and 17 rebounds. The Cougars, meanwhile, are coming off a 102-92 win against San Francisco in their last game. Chase Fischer led the team in scoring by registering 25 points on 7-for-14 shooting.

Sabonis and Kyle Wiltjer have been better than usual over the last five games for the Bulldogs. During that stretch, Sabonis has averaged 22.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks, while Wiltjer has recorded 23.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.0 block, and 2.8 three-pointers a game.

Gonzaga is a six-point favorite against BYU and the Over/Under (O/U) for this game is sitting at 161 points.
