The California Golden Bears (3-5) take on the Cal Poly Mustangs (3-5) at Haas Pavilion. The game starts at 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 15, 2018, and will air on Pac-12 Network.

Cal Poly Mustangs at California Golden Bears Free Prediction

The last time the Mustangs played, they topped the Menlo Oaks, 82-75. The Mustangs had a much better free throw rate (0.420 vs. 0.153) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (35.7 vs. 20.0). Cal Poly received a boost from Kuba Niziol, who had 12 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

The Golden Bears were beaten by the Yale Bulldogs in their last game, 76-59. Yale’s 0.567 effective field goal percentage was their largest advantage over California, who had a rate of 0.373. California’s Paris Austin put together a solid game, leading both teams in scoring with 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting.

Since the 2017-18 season, California has done a great job of getting to the free throw line. They rank 29th in free throw attempt (FTA) rate (0.264), but Cal Poly has been among the best in the nation at keeping opponents off the line (ranking 36th by allowing a FTA rate of 0.233).

The Golden Bears won the only game against the Mustangs last season, 85-82. California did a fantastic job of getting to and converting from the charity stripe (25-33; 75.8 percent). Cal Poly, on the other hand, made 16 of its 28 three pointers (57.1 percent).
