Carson Wentz Gets Paid and the Patriots Get the Biggest Super Bowl Rings Ever

NFL

Carson Wentz has missed games in each of the last two seasons, but the Philadelphia Eagles have seen enough over three years to make him a franchise quarterback. The Eagles parted ways with Super Bowl winner Nick Foles this offseason, and they have put all their hopes going forward on Wentz’s shoulders. Many have hailed this as a shrewd move for the Eagles as Wentz has largely shined when he has been healthy, and ESPN analyst Louis Riddick has already boasted that the former North Dakota State quarterback will be this year’s NFL MVP.

DeMarcus Lawrence got paid this offseason, but that didn’t stop him from subtweeting Wentz after news broke of the new deal for Philadelphia’s quarterback. Eagles fans were quick to point out that Lawrence has a grand total of zero sacks in nine career games against Philadelphia, and both teams will be sure to use this as bulletin board material for one of the top rivalries in the NFL. Dallas beat out Philadelphia for the NFC East title last year, but the Eagles are the favorite to win the division in 2019.

The New England Patriots unveiled their Super Bowl LIII rings last night, and these rings are massive. Jostens was tasked with creating the rings, and according to the company, they are the biggest Super Bowl rings ever. There are over 400 diamonds in each ring, and according to Jostens each ring has 9.85 carats of diamonds and sapphires.

For this entire decade, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had one of the best wide receiver corps in the NFL. Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, and now JuJu Smith-Schuster have led these receivers, and Donte Moncrief is hoping to make a name for himself alongside Smith-Schuster. Moncrief was signed this offseason, and both he and James Washington could be poised for breakout seasons. Pittsburgh won’t stop throwing the ball any time soon, and this unit has a lot of potential.
