Cavan Biggio Breaks out, MLB Concussion Discussion and More

Another Hall of Fame son debuting for the Blue Jays, and another big day. In his third career game, Cavan Biggio — son of Craig — had his first three career hits, including his first career home run in a Toronto win. Elsewhere, Pirates general manager Neal Huntington wants to have an interesting discussion about concussions and substitutions. The A’s are red hot, and the Dodgers are too, with a marquee pitching matchup coming up on Memorial Day.

Not only did Biggio hit his first home run, but he did it with his Hall of Fame dad in the stands. And it was a moonshot.

An interesting idea here: The Pirates GM proposes having players leave the game to be tested for a concussion, but then be allowed to return if they’re cleared.

The Oakland A’s were 19-25 just a couple of weeks ago, but they haven’t lost since and suddenly look like American League playoff contenders again.

Two of the best pitchers in baseball square off on Memorial Day, and that’s just good for baseball.

Remember Chris Davis and his 0-for-54 slump? He had somewhat turned his season around but is now headed for the injured list.
