CFL Betting Picks For Week 7

CFL

Week 6 of the CFL season featured plenty of dramatics. First, Matt Nichols led a dramatic last-minute comeback for a 41-40 win over the Montreal Alouettes. After a couple of high-scoring games on Friday and Saturday, it was the Calgary Stampeders making a statement with a 60-1 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Zach Collaros and company have hit rock bottom at 0-5. Now the Tiger-Cats have to travel to face the Edmonton Eskimos in the second of a Friday night doubleheader this week. Here is your CFL betting rundown for Week 7 of the season.

Thursday August 3rd, 2017 – 7:30 PM ET

Calgary Stampeders @ Toronto Argonauts

CFL Betting Odds: Calgary -4

The Stampeders had their way with Hamilton in the most lopsided win of the season so far to improve to 4-1-1. It was a complete team effort with the offense, defense and special teams all scoring touchdowns. Calgary will have a tougher time this week on the road against Toronto so it will be interesting to see if they can avoid a letdown. Ricky Ray threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns in an Argos loss to the Sakatchewan Roughriders last week. Toronto is 3-3, but still owns the best record in the East division. The Argonauts have the firepower to keep up with the Stampeders but they will be in tough to win at home. It won’t be a surprise if Calgary comes out on top in a close game.

Pick: Toronto +4

Friday August 4th, 2017 – 7:00 PM ET

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Ottawa Redblacks

CFL Betting Odds: Ottawa -2.5

The Blue Bombers are rolling following last week’s comeback win over Montreal. Nichols and Andrew Harris made a statement in front of their home fans and now they will look to carry over that momentum as they visit Ottawa. The Redblacks remained stuck on one victory following their bye in Week 6 and even with a game this week that win total might not budge. Winnipeg’s defense has been excellent this season and will put a ton of pressure on Trevor Harris and company. If Nichols and Harris can pick up from where they left off then they could pick up an important road win in the nation’s capital.

Pick: Winnipeg +2.5

Friday August 4th, 2017 – 9:30 PM ET

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Edmonton Eskimos

CFL Betting Odds: Edmonton -14

Tensions finally boiled over at Tiger-Cats practice this week when quarterback Zach Collaros was involved in a fight with teammates at practice. Hamilton has hit rock bottom at 0-5 while being outscored 201-90 this season. The Tiger-Cats will attempt to rally in Edmonton this week but it doesn’t help that they will have to face the only undefeated team in the league. The Eskimos can score points in bunches and a tough defense will put even more pressure on Hamilton on the road. That said, the Tiger-Cats were humbled in last week’s loss and another blowout will be unacceptable. Edmonton will win this game, but Hamilton will cover the two touchdowns to avoid a repeat of last week’s embarrassment.

Pick: Hamilton +14

Saturday August 5th, 2017 – 7:00 PM ET

Sakatchewan Roughriders @ BC Lions

CFL Betting Odds: BC -5.5

The Roughriders rallied for an important win over Toronto last eek in large part because of excellent performances from Kevin Glenn and Duron Carter. Glenn threw for 340 yards and four touchdowns while Carter delivered a highlight-reel grab that is the obvious favorite to win Catch of the Year honors at this point. However, for as exciting as last week’s win was things are about to get a lot tougher for Saskatchewan on the road this week. Travis Lulay has been excellent in place of the injured Jonathon Jennings and BC will be motivated to bounce back this week after its four-game win streak was ended in Edmonton. The Lions offense is capable of putting up big numbers at home so it will be on Glenn and Carter to try to keep up. The Riders will keep things interesting for the first three quarters but eventually BC will pull away for the win and cover at home. Take the Lions with your picks here.

Pick: BC -5.5
