CFL Picks: League’s top two teams meet in week 15

CFL Odds:  The Calgary Stampeders visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday in a matchup of the top two teams in the league.  Calgary comes into the game at 11-2 while Saskatchewan is 9-4.  The Stampeders are listed as 3.5 point road favorites for this contest.  Let’s look at all of the action in the CFL for Week 15 and CFL picks.

-Friday, October 3rd-

Calgary Stampeders at Saskatchewan Roughriders – Stamps -3.5, total 47.5

The Stampeders could have starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell available for this game on Friday. Mitchell has been dealing with knee and ankle injuries and has missed the past two games. Drew Tate has started in his place and led Calgary on offense.  Mitchell would like to return this week even though the team has a bye next week which would mean extra rest. “The (coaching staff) just want to make sure in my mind I can play the way I’ve played the last 12 or 13 weeks,” said Mitchell, “We have to make sure it’s not hindering me. I would rather play injured than not play.” GM-head coach John Hufnagel said that Mitchell is doing well. “We will make the final decision closer to game time. He feels good. If he’s capable, then he will play.”

Calgary has won 7 of the last 10 meetings in this series but they are just 4-5-1 ATS in those games. Saskatchewan has won six of the last ten at home in this series with the last two games going over.  If Mitchell gets the start we’ll take the Stampeders in this game, otherwise we’ll pass.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Ottawa RedBlacks (No Line)

It is hard to take either of these teams as the Blue Bombers have lost four in a row while Ottawa is the worst team in the league. We’ll pass.

-Saturday, October 4th-

Edmonton Eskimos at Toronto Argonauts – Argos -3.5, total 53

The Argos are coming off a bye so they should be rested and ready for a big effort. We’ll lay the points and take Toronto.

British Columbia Lions at Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Tiger-Cats -3, total 44.5

Neither team has gotten good quarterback play this season so we’ll look for this game to go under.
