CFL Picks – Matchup of Unbeatens on Thursday Night on ESPN 2 as Edmonton Eskimos visit Winnipeg Blue Bombers

CFL Betting:  The Edmonton Eskimos visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday night in a battle of unbeatens on ESPN 2.  Neither team was expected to contend this season but each is off to a great start.  The Edmonton Eskimos have been winning with defense while the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been winning with offense.  Something has to give on Thursday night.  Let’s look at the matchup and CFL picks.

Edmonton Eskimos 2-1 ATS

The Eskimos are 2-1 against the CFL odds in their three games.  All three games went under the total. The team comes into this contest ranked 2nd in the league in fewest points allowed.  The offense has done just enough to win games as they are 4th in the league in points scored.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers 3-0 ATS

The Blue Bombers have been explosive on offense this season as they lead the league in scoring at just over 38 points per game. They needed a lot of offense last week as they had to come from behind to defeat the Montreal Alouettes 34-33.  General manager Kyle Walters realizes the team could just as easily be 1-2 as 3-0. “After Ottawa and Montreal, the reality of the situation is those games could’ve gone either way. Particularly (Friday) night, it appeared as though Montreal was going to win that game deep into the fourth quarter. We’re excited that we’re 3-0 but understand that it’s a fine line between 1-2 and 3-0 right now, truth be told.”

Game Notes

The Eskimos have been good on the road lately against the spread going 6-1 in their last seven games. On the other side, the Blue Bombers are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.  Winnipeg has not played well recently against the West going 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games.  12 of the last 16 Edmonton road games have gone over but in this series, 11 of the last 16 meetings in Winnipeg have gone under.

CFL Picks

We’ll look for this one to be close so taking the points with the Eskimos is the way to go.
