CFL Weekly Betting Picks For Week 19

CFL

With two weeks to go in the regular season, the playoff teams have all been decided in the CFL. Now, it is just a matter of where they’ll land as we head into Week 19. The Toronto Argonauts have the bye this week.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats @ Ottawa RedBlacks

CFL Odds: RedBlacks -7

The 7-9-1 RedBlacks still have a shot at winning first place in the East, which means a bye to the division finals. The 5-11 Tiger-Cats will miss out on the playoffs, but after losing their first eight games of the season, including a 60-1 laugher in Calgary, they should be proud that they have won five of their last eight games and at least made it interesting in the East. The two have split their last 10 meetings, including a pair this season with the road team winning both times. The RedBlacks have gone 6-4 ATS.

Ottawa has been much better on the road than at home this season as they are a paltry 2-5-1 in front of their home audience. However, they are much better on the road at 5-4-0. Hamilton is the same, going 4-4-0 on the road compared to 1-7-0 at home.

Pick: RedBlacks -7

Montreal Alouettes @ Saskatchewan Roughriders

CFL Odds: Roughriders -17

The 3-13 Alouettes have lost nine in a row and they have basically waved the white flag on the 2017 season. The 9-7 Roughriders are fourth in the West and can still move up in the standings if Edmonton and Winnipeg falter, and they’re coming off a rousing beating of Calgary on the road as they have won three of their last four. The Alouettes are 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Roughriders, who have lost three straight SU to Montreal. That will end this week.

The Roughriders are just 4-3-0 at home this season compared to 5-4-0 on the road. There isn’t much of a difference among their splits. However, the main difference is for Montreal, who is 3-6-0 at home this season but has yet to win a road game in seven tries (0-7-0).

Pick: Roughriders -17

British Columbia Lions @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers

CFL Odds: Blue Bombers -6

The 6-10 Lions have lost five in a row to miss out on the playoffs, while the 11-5 Blue Bombers have dropped two of their last three and are looking to hold on to second place in the West, which would get them a home game in the division semifinals. The Blue Bombers are 6-4 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Lions, and the two split a pair this season with the home team winning each time.

The Blue Bombers lead the CFL in terms of points scored with 504. However, their defense has only been so-so, giving up 451 points this season. The Blue Bombers are an impressive 6-2-0 at home this season, which bodes well for them in this spot. The B.C. Lions are just 3-5-0 in road games this year.

Pick: Blue Bombers -6

Calgary Stampeders @ Edmonton Eskimos

CFL Odds: Stampeders -4

The 13-2-1 Stampeders had their 11-game winning streak halted at home by Saskatchewan, but they’re already going straight to the division finals and this loss was probably good for them, to snap them back to reality a little. The 10-6 Eskimos have won three straight and are taking aim at second place in the West, but they’re so streaky, you have no idea what you’re going to get from one week to the next. The Stampeders are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 meetings with their provincial rivals, including four wins in a row SU. If anything is going to get the Stampeders going into the final week of the season when they have everything wrapped up, it is a game against their biggest rivals (with all due respect to Saskatchewan; the provincial rivalry takes precedence).

The Stampeders are 7-1-0 at home this season but are 6-1-1 in road games. As for Edmonton, they are both 5-3-0 at home and on the road. In terms of points, the Stamps are second in the league with 498 points scored. Only the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (504) have more. On defense, they’ve allowed 297, which is by far the fewest as every other team has allowed at least 390 or more.

Pick: Stampeders -4
