Chicago White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers Odds

Chicago (+105) is entering this game as the underdog to Detroit (-115) and Vegas has set the Over/Under for this game at 9.5 runs. Odds for wagering on the game’s total stand at +100 for the over and -120 for the under. Bettors can also wager on the game’s spread with the runline odds sitting at -200 for the White Sox +1.5 runs and +170 for the Tigers -1.5.

The Tigers are 67-61 against the spread (ATS)despite being only 53-76 straight up (SU). Outfielder Nicholas Castellanos and shortstop Jose Iglesias have led the Tigers’ batters this year. Castellanos is slashing .294/.347/.496 with 19 home runs, 73 RBIs and 69 runs scored, and Iglesias is hitting .266 with five homers, 48 RBIs, 42 runs and 14 steals.

For the visiting squad, Chicago’s pitching staff allowed 5.3 runs per game and its starters own a 5.14 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 6.76 K/9. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 4.52, along with a K/9 of 9.74.

The White Sox offense has slashed .243/.304/.409 on its way to 4.1 runs scored per game this year, including 4.3 runs per game against divisional foes and 5.0 per game over the team’s last five outings (3-2 SU).

Chicago’s hitters have been led by first baseman Jose Abreu and third baseman Yolmer Sanchez, who collectively have launched 29 home runs. Abreu is slashing .272/.331/.491 with 22 home runs, 78 RBIs and 67 runs scored, while Sanchez is slashing .246/.311/.383 with seven homers, 45 RBIs and 47 runs scored.

The Tigers have lost 9.7 units and are 47-48 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher. The over has hit in 35 of those games, compared to 55 that’ve gone under against righties.
