Chiefs News: ‘Optimism’ Tyreek Hill Back For Kansas City Week 6

Potentially huge news on Friday – a day when injury reports are combed over closely by fans and fantasy owners alike for NFL injuries. Furthermore, the Kansas City Chiefs sound like they have an excellent shot at getting star wide receiver Tyreek Hill back to action for a home matchup with the Houston Texans this coming Sunday.

The news comes out from Around the NFL, which released a tweet early Friday. Notably, it states the word ‘optimism’ surrounding Hill; who has missed action since week one with a clavicle injury.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport is the man on the spot with the report.

“Similar to the Sam Darnold situation, feelings are one thing, but tests and scans are another thing,” Rapoport said. “They are going to scan the bone, make sure that it has healed properly, make sure it’s safe for him to be out there.”

Remember, news came out last week stating that Hill could possibly return soon. However, he did not play in week five. In that game, the Chiefs were held to just 10 points on Sunday night football. With that being said, the Chiefs were without not only Hill, but Sammy Watkins left the game very early due to his own injury.

Now, the Chiefs can be expected to have more firepower. They will need it, as the Houston Texans put up a 50-plus point effort in their game last week against the Atlanta Falcons.

Obviously, this is good for the sport of football. The Chiefs have one of the greatest offenses in the history of the game, comparable to the late 90’s St. Louis Rams which were dubbed ‘The Greatest Show on Turf’.

Finally, one has to wonder what kind of numbers MVP candidate and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will put up if Hill returns to the lineup. The star wide receiver is known as one of the most explosive players in the league currently.
