Cincinnati Reds – Arizona Diamondbacks Preview – 08.27.2016

In the second of a three-game series between the Arizona Diamondbacks (54-75) and the Cincinnati Reds (54-73) at Chase Field, Zack Godley (4-2, 5.53 ERA) and Anthony DeSclafani (7-2, 3.27 ERA) take the mound. The Diamondbacks won the last game 4-3, and Arizona leads the series 1-0. The game starts at 8:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 27 and will air on FSAZ and FSOH.

In his last start, Godley pitched 5.0 innings, giving up seven runs, striking out three and walking three in a 9-8 victory over the Braves. Paul Goldschmidt (.305, 86 Rs, 20 HRs, 78 RBIs, 21 SBs) continued his strong season yesterday, going 2 for 5 with one stolen base. The Reds were unsuccessful the last time DeSclafani pitched. He struggled, going 7.0 innings, allowing four runs, striking out six and walking one in a 4-0 loss to the Dodgers. Adam Duvall (.244, 70 Rs, 28 HRs, 82 RBIs, 4 SBs) has been doing well, going 2 for 5 yesterday with one run.

Arizona is a slight +100 underdog in this game, and the Over/Under (O/U) is set at nine runs. The Diamondbacks perform poorly as an underdog with a 26-48 record and have an overall money line of -2,146. With a 0-3 record as the underdog, they have had a tough time over their last 10 games. The Diamondbacks have one of the most prolific offenses in the entire NL, averaging 4.6 runs per game. The Diamondbacks rank fifth in the majors in extra base hits with 427.
