Pfeufer told ESPN he chose the line instead of listing activities because “it rhymes so well” and he considered himself “a man of words and phrases.”
The quote resurfaced when Pfeufer posted a photo of the yearbook entry to his Instagram close friends story on May 25, according to ESPN. Friends urged him to share it more widely; he sent the image to Overtime’s social account and that outlet posted it, where it drew more than 120,000 likes since going up last Thursday, according to ESPN.
Pfeufer, a Long Island native from Kings Park whose earliest memory is hearing Madison Square Garden fans chant for Rasheed Wallace, tagged actor Timothée Chalamet — another well-known Knicks fan — in the replies, according to ESPN. The actor has not responded to the tag, ESPN reported.
After New York dropped two games to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, Pfeufer said he would stop watching the Knicks’ playoff games live and follow results online until the Finals, according to ESPN. With the Knicks now up 2-0 over the San Antonio Spurs, he slightly adjusted his prediction.
