It will be a matchup of two teams headed in opposite directions when the undefeated Detroit Pistons (3-0) go head-to-head with the winless Cleveland Cavaliers (0-4) at Little Caesars Arena. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 25, 2018, and will air on Fox Sports – Ohio.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons Betting Prediction

The last time the Cavaliers played, they were 8-point favorites and lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 102-86. The combined points for the game (188) finished well under the O/U total of 232.5. Brooklyn made 14 of their 34 three pointers (41.2 percent), while Cleveland was just 3-18 (16.7 percent). Kevin Love led Cleveland in scoring with 14 points on 4-for-9 shooting.

The Pistons edged the Philadelphia 76ers in their last game, 133-132, despite being 1-point underdogs. The combined points for the game (265) came in well over the O/U total of 214.5. Detroit’s turnover percentage was their biggest strength over Philadelphia. The Pistons had a rate of 6.3, while the 76ers posted a mark of 9.1. Blake Griffin was the top scorer from either team with 50 points on 20-for-35 shooting.

Detroit should be expected to protect the ball well in this contest. Since last season, Detroit ranks fifth in the league at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 12.9 percent), while Cleveland has forced the second-fewest turnovers (12.6 percent).

Since last season, the Cavaliers have had records of 50-36 straight up (SU) and 47-51-5 against the spread (ATS). Vegas has had a tendency to set the total low when Cleveland is involved since last season as 61.2 percent of their games have finished over the projected point total.

The Pistons, on the other hand, are 42-43 SU and 39-46 ATS since last season. Detroit’s games have had a tendency to finish under the projected point total over that same stretch (55.3 percent).

The Cavaliers won three out of four matchups against the Pistons last season. In the last game, Cleveland won 112-90. The Cavaliers had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (25.6 vs. 16.0) and had a better free throw rate (0.159 vs. 0.115).
