Tulane Green Wave at UAB Blazers Betting Preview

In this Saturday matchup, Tulane is getting picked as the favorite and is currently giving up 4 points. The Green Wave are also receiving -185 moneyline odds while the Blazers are +165. There will probably be multiple solid in-game betting opportunities in this matchup.

The opening line was originally set at 3 but the general public’s been hammering the Green Wave.

The Green Wave are 2-0 against the spread (ATS) and have gained 0.0 units so far. The team’s posted an O/U record of 1-1. The Blazers have been a disappointment to moneyline bettors this season, losing 3.5 units. The team is 1-1 ATS and has an O/U record of 1-0.

The Green Wave have gone 1-1 straight up (SU) in 2018 while the Blazers are also 1-1 SU.

The Green Wave are looking to maintain momentum following a solid 42-17 victory over Nicholls last week in which Jonathan Banks completed 12 passes on 16 attempts for 190 yards and one touchdown. Darius Bradwell (93 yards on 13 rush attempts) led the running attack. Darnell Mooney (six receptions, 111 yards, one TD) and Terren Encalade (two catches, 38 yards) handled the receiving duties in the win.

UAB just lost a 47-24 game to Coastal Carolina. The defense allowed the Chanticleers to kill the clock by running for 296 yards on 43 rush attempts, including five rush TDs. Marcus Outlow put up a solid outing, recording 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 20 attempts for Coastal Carolina. For UAB, A.J. Erdely completed 12-of-26 passes for 149 yards and one interception. The Green Wave have produced 211 rush yards/game and have five touchdowns on the ground this year. The Blazers are logging 286 rush yards per game and have seven total rushing TDs.

If the numbers so far this season can translate to this game, then it appears the Blazers ought to be the more disruptive team in the trenches, as their offensive line has given up just two sacks while the D-line has logged three sacks. The Green Wave O-line has given up six sacks and their defense has sacked opposing signal-callerss on just three occasions.

The Green Wave offense has averaged 237 yards through the air overall and has three passing TDs so far. The Blazers have recorded 206 pass yards per outing and have two total pass scores.
