A couple of schools that like to run the football, Cowboys (-2) are set to welcome the Air Force Falcons to Wyoming. ESNN is scheduled to televise the action and this MWC game kicks off at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Air Force Falcons at Wyoming Cowboys Betting Preview

Air Force is getting picked to play the role of underdog and is currently getting 2 points in this MWC game. The Falcons are also receiving +110 moneyline odds while the Cowboys are -130. Vegas has placed the over/under (O/U) at 42 points. If the underdog strikes early, it will probably create a worthwhile live betting scenario.

With the game’s over/under placed originally at 41, sharp bettors have been siding with the over.

The Falcons are 6-3-1 against the spread (ATS) and are down 2.8 units so far. The team’s posted an O/U record of 5-4. The Cowboys are down 2.9 units for moneyline bettors this season. They’re 3-7 ATS and have an O/U record of 4-5.

The Falcons are 4-6 straight up (SU), including 2-4 SU against MWC opponents. The Cowboys are 4-6 SU overall and are also 2-4 SU in conference play.

When these two programs faced one another a year ago, Wyoming knocked off Air Force by two touchdowns 28-14.

The Falcons are coming off a resounding 42-24 victory over New Mexico last week. Donald Hammond III completed five passes on 6 attempts for just 145 yards and two touchdowns. Hammond III (136 rushing yards on 19 attempts, one TD) also mounted the ground attack and was complemented by Kadin Remsberg (99 yards on six carries, one TD). Kade Waguespack (three receptions, 51 yards, two TDs) and Marcus Bennett (one catch, 54 yards) handled the receiving duties in the win.

Wyoming just put together a blowout 24-9 win over San Jose State two weeks ago. The defensive unit did its duty in the victory, limiting the Spartans to just 173 passing yards and 71 rushing yards. Tyler Nevens was a bright spot in the defeat for San Jose State, accounting for 70 rushing yards on 17 attempts. For Wyoming, Sean Chambers completed four-of-eight passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. Nico Evans (187 rushing yards on 33 attempts, one TD) and the signal-caller Chambers (129 yards on 17 carries, one TD) led the running game while Austin Fort (two receptions, 28 yards, one TD) and Austin Conway (one catch, 10 yards) led the pass-catching attack in the win.

Air Force’s run the ball on 80.2 percent of its offensive possessions this year while Wyoming has an overall rush percentage of 64.2 percent. The Falcons have run for 265 yards/game (including 288 per game versus Mountain West opponents) and have 28 touchdowns on the ground this year. The Cowboys are logging 192 rushing yards per game (215 in conference) and have 12 total rush TDs.

It seems like the Falcons could own the advantage along both the offensive and defensive fronts. Their offensive line has given up just 22 sacks while the D-line logged 10 sacks. The Cowboys O-line has allowed 26 sacks and their defense has sacked opposing QBs just 33 times.

The Falcons offense has averaged 144 yards in the air overall (152 per game against conference opposition) and has nine passing TDs so far. The Cowboys have recorded 127 pass yards per game (114.2 against MWC foes) and have six total pass scores.

Defensively, Air Force has allowed 123 rush yards and 229 pass yards per game. The Wyoming D has allowed 227.3 yards per game to opposing passers and 114.3 yards per game on the ground. The Cowboys are giving up an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of just 5.62 to opponents, while the Falcons have allowed an 8.21 ANY/A.

Offensively, Hammond III is up to 369 passing yards this season, and has completed 56 percent of his 32 attempts with four passing scores and has yet to throw an interception. Hammond III’s got a pristine 14.03 adjusted net yards per pass attempt, including 14.52 over the last two games.

In the other locker room, Sean Chambers has managed to complete 7-of-13 passes for 113 yards, one TD and zero INTs. Chambers’ ANY/A stands at 10.23 for the season and 12.61 over his past two outings.
