College Football Free Betting Prediction: Syracuse Orange at Notre Dame Fighting Irish

In a matchup that showcases two programs that are nationally ranked in the Top 15, the No. 12 Syracuse Orange (+9) are set to face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-9) at Yankee Stadium. Fans can catch the action live on NBC and kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET.

The Orange enter into this Saturday game as a noticeable underdog and they’re currently receiving 9 points. The Orange are also receiving +280 moneyline odds while the Fighting Irish are -360. Vegas has set the over/under (O/U) at 62.5 points. If Notre Dame gets behind in the early stages, it’ll likely generate a worthy betting scenario in-game.

Taj Harris (six receptions, 58 yards) and Sean Riley (three catches, 51 yards) shared the receiving duties in the win.

The Notre Dame Irish just picked up a lopsided 42-13 win over Florida State. The defensive unit allowed the Seminoles to rush for 106 yards on 30 attempts, including two rush TDs. Nyqwan Murray was a bright spot in the loss for Florida State, posting 79 yards on six catches. For Notre Dame, Brandon Wimbush completed 12-of-25 passes for 130 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Dexter Williams (202 rushing yards on 20 attempts, two TDs) and the signal-caller Wimbush (68 yards on 12 carries) mounted the running attack as Chris Finke (four receptions, 59 yards) and Miles Boykin (four catches, 30 yards, one TD) led the pass-catching corps in the win.

Syracuse has run the ball on 56.1 percent of its offensive possessions this year while Notre Dame has a rush percentage of 58.6 percent. The Orange have rushed for 216 yards/game and have 32 scores on the ground this year. The Irish are averaging 199 rush yards per game and have 24 total rushing TDs.

The Orange offense has averaged 266 yards through the air overall and has 18 passing scores so far. The Irish have recorded 254 pass yards per contest and have 19 total pass TDs.

Syracuse has allowed opponents to rush for an average of 169 yards and throw for 261 yards per game. The Notre Dame D has given up 191.2 yards per game to opposing passers and 138.9 yards per game to opposing runners. The Irish are giving up an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of just 3.84 to opponents, while the Orange have allowed a 5.39 ANY/A.

Passing-wise, Dungey has put up 2,036 yards this year. He’s connected on 160-of-268 attempts with 14 scores through the air and five interceptions. Dungey has a 7.05 adjusted net yards per pass attempt overall, although that number sits at 4.62 over the last two games.

On the other sideline, Ian Book has connected on 152-of-204 passes for 1,824 yards, 15 TDs and four INTs. Book’s ANY/A stands at 8.90 for the year and 11.26 across his past two outings.
