College Football: Top Televised Games For Week 7

College Football Televised

The Michigan State Spartans stole the headlines in Week 6 when they shocked the college football world with a 14-10 upset win over the Michigan Wolverines to crush their rivals hopes of contending on the national stage this season. The focus now shifts to Week 7 with a handful of highly anticipated matchups worth keeping a close eye on this weekend. Here is a look at the top televised games for Week 7 of the college football season.

#12 Oklahoma Sooners @ Texas Longhorns

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET – ESPN

Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley and Texas head coach Tom Herman will get their first taste of the Red River Rivalry in a Big 12 showdown with major implications. The Sooners suffered one of the biggest upsets in college football history when they lost at home to Iowa State last week so they will be in tough to bounce back on short notice. Meanwhile, Texas is 2-0 in the Big 12 for the first time in four years and everybody knows that quarterback Baker Mayfield has had this game circled on his calendar. Mayfield threw for 390 yards and three touchdowns in a shootout loss to Oklahoma in their last meeting. If he produces similar numbers it should be enough to get the win in the rematch.

Pick: Oklahoma

#10 Auburn Tigers @ LSU Tigers

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET – CBS

LSU has a chance to make a statement against Auburn this week. Ed Orgeron’s side nearly pulled off a last-second win between these sides a year ago when Les Miles was still the head coach and now they get their shot at redemption. Meanwhile, Auburn’s schedule is about to get a lot tougher with three straight on the road in the month of November. This game will likely go down to the wire again with LSU covering at home.

Pick: LSU +7

Arkansas Razorbacks @ #1 Alabama Crimson Tide

Saturday, 7:15 PM ET – ESPN

Alabama will get a couple of potential upset alerts along the way to its next SEC championship game appearance but don’t expect it to happen against the Razorbacks this week. The Crimson Tide are coming off a close win over Texas A&M so they should be motivated to bounce back at home against Arkansas. Alabama will showcase its depth and talent in the national spotlight on ESPN on Saturday. Expect a much more lopsided win with the Crimson Tide playing with a greater sense of urgency against the Razorbacks this week.

Pick: Alabama

#21 Michigan State Spartans @ Minnesota Golden Gophers

Saturday, 8:00 PM ET – ESPN

The Spartans are coming off a huge win over their rivals in Michigan and now the script for both teams has flipped. All of the sudden, the Wolverines are on the outside of the College Football Playoff picture looking in and are low on the pecking order in the Big Ten. As for Sparty, they’re now viewed as a team on the rise. However, they better be careful and not get too excited about their big win. Now they’re on the road in Minnesota, facing a team that could easily pull the upset. The Spartans have a solid defense but their offense has been challenged. This is the type of game where 14 or 21 points might the job done. If Michigan State has any type of letdown after their big win, the Gophers could pull this surprise. Minnesota is currently a small 4.5-point home underdog.

Pick: Minnesota

Utah Utes @ #13 USC Trojans

Saturday, 8:00 PM ET – ABC

The Trojans will have the opportunity to move one step closer to contending for a Pac-12 championship against a Utah side that was just bumped out of the top-25 following a tough loss to Stanford. The Utes could be in tough without quarterback Tyler Huntley but there has been no official word on whether or not he will play. Utah will have a much better chance to win this game with Huntley in the lineup but there is no guarantee he will be good to go. Either way, this should be an exciting Pac-12 showdown in the prime time Saturday night ABC slot.

Pick: USC
