College Football Week 7 Opening Lines Report

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

This week will be about thinning out teams with legitimate national championship aspirations from those in the next tier. There are multiple clashes between premier teams with zero or one losses in Week 7, and that should make this one of the best college football betting weeks of the year. Here are the College Football Week 7 opening lines.

Washington Huskies -3.5

Oregon Ducks +3.5

The Washington Huskies have won five in a row after a season-opening loss to Auburn, but they have yet to play a divisional opponent. That ends this week when they travel to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks.

The Huskies continue to be somewhat underwhelming. Washington only managed to beat winless UCLA by seven points on Saturday, as the defense allowed a moribund Bruins offense to put up 422 total yards. That’s not a good sign heading into this game.

Oregon’s offense has not missed a beat without Willie Taggart. Justin Herbert is averaging 10.4 yards per pass attempt, and the Ducks offense is averaging more than 500 yards per game. They will look to wear down the Huskies defense with tempo.

Georgia Bulldogs -7.5

LSU Tigers +7.5

Georgia was expected to run roughshod over its opponents through the first half of 2018. The Bulldogs have won each of their first six games by at least 14 points, but something has been a bit off with this team. The defense has had some hiccups, allowing some pretty big plays, while the offense has struggled to move the ball at times.

Going on the road to Baton Rouge presents Georgia with its toughest test yet. LSU is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Florida, and the Tigers will be hungry to get a win. They are having the same offensive problems that have seemingly plagued them all decade though, and LSU will find it tough to move the ball.

Wisconsin Badgers +7

Michigan Wolverines -7

Michigan’s season-opening loss to Notre Dame looks better and better with each passing week. The Wolverines have dominated four of their last five opponents, and that gives the team some hope of making it to the College Football Playoff. They are entering the thick of their schedule, and with Michigan State and Penn State next up, this stretch will make or break their season.

The Badgers are still recovering after a stunning home loss to BYU a few weeks ago. They continue to be the favorites to win the Big Ten West following wins over Iowa and Nebraska, but the Wolverines will represent a significant step-up in terms of competition. Alex Hornibrook will need to make some plays through the air to pull off the upset, and that’s something he has not done over the course of his time in Madison.
