Colorado Rockies at Seattle Mariners Free Preview 07/08/18

The Colorado Rockies will be squaring off against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The opening pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET and this interleague showdown will be televised on both RTNW and ATRM.

Colorado Rockies vs. Seattle Mariners Odds

Seattle (-125) is hosting this one as the favorite over Colorado (+115) and Vegas has put the Over/Under for this one at 8.5 runs (+100 for the over and -120 for the under). Runline odds sit at -180 for taking the Rockies +1.5 runs and +160 for the Mariners -1.5 runs.

The Mariners are 56-34 straight up (SU) and 46-43 against the spread (ATS). They’ve gained 20.9 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 0.9 units (ATS). Seattle has covered the spread four times in its last seven games and the total has gone under in four of those seven. The Rockies, on the other hand, are 46-43 SU and have gone 44-44 ATS. Overall, the team’s gained 0.5 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 0.5 units ATS. Colorado has covered the spread five times in its last seven games and the total has gone under in five of those seven.

Neither squad has positioned itself as a strong over/under bet this season. Mariners games have an over/under record of 43-44-2 so far in 2018. The Rockies have an over/under record of 41-43-4.

Antonio Senzatela is getting the nod for the visiting Rockies. The right-handed Senzatela is 3-1 with a 4.44 ERA and 18 strikeouts. He has yet to face the Mariners this year and only made one start against them in 2017 (0-1, 7.20 ERA and seven strikeouts over five innings).

The Mariners are handing the ball to lefty Wade LeBlanc (4-0, 3.19 ERA), who has 60 punchouts and 16 walks to his credit, as well as a WHIP of 1.15. LeBlanc did not record a start against the Rockies in 2017.

The Seattle hitters have put up 4.3 runs per outing, including 3.7 per game over its last 10 games and 2.8 per game over their last five. The team has hit .245/.305/.405 over its last five matchups and is 2-3 SU during that stretch.

The Mariners’ hitters have been led by shortstop Jean Segura and right fielder Dee Gordon. Segura is hitting .333/.361/.475 with seven home runs, 47 RBIs, 61 runs and 14 stolen bases, and Gordon’s line is .282/.302/.348 with 93 hits, 21 RBIs, 39 runs and 22 stolen bases.

In the other dugout, Colorado’s pitchers have allowed 5.0 runs per game and its starters own a 4.45 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 8.44 K/9. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 5.32, along with a K/9 of 8.76.
