The Colorado Rockies will make a road trip to Atlanta to square off against the Braves at SunTrust Park. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET and this NL showdown will be televised on both ATRM and FSSE.

Colorado Rockies at Atlanta Braves Odds

Colorado (-120) is entering this one as the favorite against Atlanta (+110) and Vegas has set the Over/Under for this night game at 8.5 runs. Odds for wagering on the game’s total stand at -110 for both the over and the under. The game’s runline odds sit at +125 for taking the Rockies -1.5 runs and -145 for the Braves +1.5.

The Rockies are 64-56 SU and are 62-57 against the spread (ATS). They’ve gained 10.7 units for gamblers taking the moneyline and 4.5 units ATS. Colorado is 3-4 ATS over its last seven games and the under has hit in five of those seven. The Braves, on the other hand, are 68-51 SU and 62-55 ATS. They’ve gained 21.6 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 2.8 units ATS. Atlanta has covered the spread four times in its last seven games and the over has cashed in four of those seven.

Right-hander Jon Gray is projected to start for Colorado. Gray is 9-7 with a 4.81 ERA and 148 strikeouts. He has yet to face Atlanta this year, but he did make two starts against the Braves in 2017, putting together a 2-0 record against them with a 1.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts.

The Braves will send righty Julio Teheran (8-7, 4.33 ERA) to the mound. Teheran has 117 punchouts and 63 walks to his credit, as well as a 1.25 WHIP. Teheran made two starts against the Rockies in 2017, putting together a 1-0 record with a 1.26 ERA and 12 strikeouts.

As a unit, Atlanta’s pitching staff has given up 4.1 runs per game overall in 2018. The club’s starting pitching staff has a 3.61 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 4.09 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9.2 K/9.

The Atlanta hitters have produced 4.9 runs per contest, including 6.4 per game over its last 10 games and 7.6 per game over their last five. The team has slashed .327/.378/.614 over its last five matchups and is 5-0 SU during that stretch.

The Braves’ offense has been led by right fielder Nick Markakis and first baseman Freddie Freeman. Markakis is hitting .321/.383/.499 with 14 home runs, 76 RBIs and 69 runs scored, while Freeman’s line is .323/.403/.537 with 20 homers, 75 RBIs and 75 runs.

In the other dugout, Colorado’s pitchers have allowed 4.8 runs per game and its starting pitchers own a 4.34 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 8.41 K/9. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 5.15, along with a WHIP of 1.30.

The Rockies offense has slashed .253/.321/.428 on its way to 4.6 runs scored per game in 2018, including 3.5 runs per game over the team’s last 10 games and 3.6 per game over the team’s last five contests (4-1 SU).

Shortstop Trevor Story and third baseman Nolan Arenado continue to lead Colorado’s offense. Story is slashing .291/.347/.551 with 25 home runs, 83 RBIs, 60 runs and 16 stolen bases, while Arenado (.308/.393/.588) has produced 30 homers, 84 RBIs and 78 runs scored.

The Rockies have gained 3.8 units and are 34-40 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has cashed in 37 of those games, as opposed to 34 that’ve gone under in such games. On the other hand, the Braves have netted 20.8 units and are 46-35 ATS when facing a righty starter. The over’s hit in 40 of those games, compared to 37 that went under the total.
