In the Bluejays’ last matchup, they beat the Western Illinois Leathernecks, 78-67. The Bluejays had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.548 vs. 0.428) and had a better free throw rate (0.143 vs. 0.116). Creighton was led by Martin Krampelj, who was the team’s high scorer with 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting.

The Bulldogs had no trouble getting past the Miami (OH) RedHawks in their last outing, 90-68. The Bulldogs had a much better free throw rate (0.207 vs. 0.095) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (46.2 vs. 23.5). With 17 points and seven rebounds, Paul Jorgensen had a solid outing for Butler.

After splitting two games last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the most recent contest, the Bulldogs won 93-70. The Bulldogs had a much better turnover percentage (11.1 vs. 18.1) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (31.3 vs. 20.0).

Both teams have had a player take their game to the next level over their last five games. Ty-Shon Alexander (0 points) has been stellar for the Bluejays while Jorgensen (0 points) has contributed greatly to the Bulldogs.

The productive offense of Butler (89th in the nation with an offensive efficiency of 110.1) will battle against the mid-tier defense of Creighton (224th in the country with a defensive efficiency of 103.1). The Bulldogs should have the edge on that side of the ball.
